In November 2018 Docubox’s Judy Kibinge and Peter Mudamba were at the Filmakademie in Ludwigsburg, with Nigerian Afrinolly founders; Jane and Chike Maduegbuna. It was a great opportunity for them to share work from both organizations with the International Class at this prestigious film school. They also spent time with the Akademie designing a series of monthly year-long craft workshops for East African Film Professionals which launched in December of the same year.

Dubbed, The Film Pro Series – EA, the program is generously supported by Robert Bosch Stifftung with organizing partners Filmakademie,who design the curriculums and provide world class German mentors for the series and Rushlake Media who coordinate the series.

Since then there have been several Film Pro Series workshops that have been held covering various disciplines in film production: Sound, Cinematography, Script Writing, Advanced Editing, Creative Producing, Colour Grading, Pitching and Screen Writing.

The Film Pro Series was put together to elevate the skills of the professionals we have in the film market in East Africa today. This being a “Pro Series”, the application process is very particular and at some parts demanding, but if you are a “Film Pro” yourself, then make sure to stay on top of our social media pages to hear about announcements we make future workshops.
