Asante Nyuki (Thank You, Bees) follows Jason Runo, a passionate Kenyan beekeeper, as he travels to Nepal to meet the legendary Gurung honey hunters. There, he witnesses their ancient and daring tradition of harvesting special wild honey from 300-foot cliffs using hanging bamboo ladders. Through this extraordinary cultural experience, Jason reflects on the deep connection that must exist between humans and bees, whether in his apiary in Kenya or a remote village in Nepal. Set against the scenic backdrops of both Kenya and Nepal, the film hopes to encourage viewers to honor and celebrate the crucial role bees play in sustaining life across different cultures and ecosystems.
