Good Pitch
About the Project
Docubox partnered with Good Pitch, an initiative of Doc Society, to strengthen the role of documentary film as a tool for social impact in Kenya and the wider East African region.
Through this partnership, Docubox co-hosted and supported the Good Pitch Kenya forum, bringing together documentary filmmakers, civil society organizations, activists, foundations, media practitioners, and policy influencers. The event created a unique space where filmmakers presented their documentary projects to potential partners who could help extend the impact of the films beyond the screen.
The collaboration enabled selected filmmakers to build strategic partnerships with organizations working on issues such as human rights, governance, social justice, environment, and community development. By connecting films with advocacy groups, funders, and media platforms, the partnership helped transform documentaries into powerful tools for dialogue, awareness, and policy engagement.
For Docubox, hosting Good Pitch was also part of its broader mission to develop a vibrant documentary culture in East Africa, support filmmakers in creating compelling non-fiction stories, and ensure those stories reach audiences who can use them to inspire conversation and meaningful change.
Through this collaboration, Docubox strengthened networks between filmmakers and social change organizations, helping build an ecosystem where storytelling and social action work hand in hand.
