Book Bunk Screenings

Earlier in the year, we partnered with Book Bunk, a social impact firm working to restore some of Nairobi’s historically and iconic public libraries: the McMillan Memorial Library in Nairobi’s city center and two of its smaller community branches, Eastlands Makadara and Kaloleni Libraries, specifically to support the film screenings component.
This series of screenings ran from May to mid-October 2022. Docubox curated a total of 21 richly diverse films, including both short and feature-length documentaries exploring a range of themes. Some of these screenings were followed by physical and virtual post-screening discussions and Q&A sessions, engaging filmmakers to share deeper insights into their work with audiences.
In total, we reached 1,821 people through these film screenings.
