Kenya Creates

About the Project

Kenya Creates is a Docubox storytelling and impact program that uses film and creative storytelling to spark reflection, conversation, and advocacy around Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights and Justice (SRHRJ) among young people in Kenya.
Implemented by Docubox in partnership with IRIS and the Children’s Investment Fund Foundation, the program brought together filmmakers and creatives through collaborative writing rooms, production grants, and youth-focused impact campaigns.
The initiative supported the production of four short fiction films exploring themes such as body image, sexuality, shame, consent, and identity. These films were screened in schools, communities, and youth forums across Kenya, creating safe spaces for discussion and reflection among young audiences.
Through screenings in 12 counties across Kenya, the program reached more than 9,000 people in person and over 500,000 audiences digitally, encouraging conversations around youth wellbeing, rights, and identity.
