Sounds Of Silence [2018]
SYNOPSISSounds of Silence is a coming of age film about Felista Wayua Musau. It explores her teen years as a deaf girl who’s a great dancer. From her point of view we explore her life as a dancer, a daughter and a student. We enter her dreamy world of dance and meet her friends in the dancing troupe who are also deaf, we journey with them as they attend a national dance competition.
The progression of the film unpacks Wayua’s challenges communicating with her hearing parents and siblings when at home. We’re drawn into her silent world and find out about her fears, aspirations and dreams.
