Jiongoze Project
Global Community Engagement and Resilience Fund (GCERF) ran a campaign to prevent violent extremism amongst Kenya’s vulnerable youth. DOCUBOX and The Box were asked to create 4 different short films in line with this particular and very sensitive theme for social impact.
Tabianchi (SOS)
A climate storytelling initiative supported by Hivos — producing two short documentaries and hosting community and school impact screenings across Kenya to encourage dialogue around environmental responsibility and climate justice.

SDI Stories
A film training program designed by Docubox and the Scottish Documentary Institute to bring fresh voices from smaller East African towns — outside capital cities — into the regional film industry, with filmmakers from Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Ethiopia, South Sudan, and Rwanda.
Filamu Dada
Seven female filmmaker teams each documented a Kenyan woman leader in the run-up to the 2022 national elections — every subject filmed went on to win their seat, from village chief to governor.

A collaborative TikTok storytelling challenge with the International Documentary Association, Doc Society, In-Docs, and DocsMX — inviting creators worldwide to explore democracy through short-form video, with $250 awards for up to 20 selected creators.
Ted Countdown
A collaboration with the TED Countdown Summit supporting seven Nairobi film students to produce five-minute climate films using smartphone technology — with two films going on to screen at regional festivals, one winning Best Smartphone Film at the Ateker International Film Festival.
Art of Order
A cultural initiative by ALN Academy and Docubox using documentary film, visual art, and public dialogue to explore justice, governance, and the rule of law as lived cultural experiences across African societies.
Book Bunk Screenings
A screening series hosted at Nairobi's historic public libraries — McMillan Memorial, Makadara, and Kaloleni — bringing 21 curated documentary films to 1,821 people through screenings, filmmaker Q&As, and community conversations.
